1. Who we are
MC Detailing Limited, 260 West Main Street, Whitburn, Bathgate, EH47 0LB.
Email: martin@mcdetailing.uk · Phone: +44 7510 141510
These terms apply to all valeting and detailing work we carry out. By booking, you accept them.
2. Booking and quotes
- Quotes are based on the information you give us about the vehicle and its condition.
- A deposit may be required to secure your booking. The balance is due on completion.
- If the vehicle is significantly dirtier or in worse condition than described, we may need to adjust the price or the time required. We will tell you before starting any additional work.
- A booking is confirmed once we have agreed a date, time and location with you.
3. Cancellation
- Please give us at least 48 hours notice to cancel or reschedule.
- If you cancel with less than 48 hours notice, or we arrive and cannot access the vehicle, your deposit is not refunded. This covers the lost slot and travel.
- We may cancel or reschedule if weather makes the work unsafe or impossible to complete to standard. If we do, your deposit is carried over to the next available slot or refunded in full.
4. Access, water and power (mobile work)
- For mobile bookings you must provide safe, legal access to the vehicle and enough space to work around it.
- We need access to mains electricity at the location. Please make sure an outdoor socket or a safe route to one is available.
- Water is optional — we carry our own water tank, so you do not need to provide a supply.
- You are responsible for ensuring we have permission to work at the location, for example from a landlord, employer or property management.
5. Vehicle condition and your responsibilities
- Please remove personal belongings, valuables and loose items before we start. We are not responsible for items left in the vehicle.
- Tell us in advance about any existing damage, aftermarket paint, wraps, vinyl, previous repairs, loose trim, or known faults. Some of these need different treatment and some cannot be worked on safely.
- Child seats, dash cams and similar are the owner’s responsibility to remove and refit.
6. What we cannot guarantee
Detailing improves a vehicle’s condition but cannot undo everything. In particular we cannot guarantee removal of:
- deep scratches that have gone through the clear coat
- etching, staining or fading caused by long-term neglect
- damage to fabric or leather that has already perished, torn or been dyed
- smells caused by damp, spills or smoke that have soaked into the underlay
We will always tell you honestly what we expect to achieve before we start.
7. Damage and liability
- We take reasonable care with every vehicle. We carry public liability insurance and cover for damage to vehicles being worked upon.
- If you believe we have caused damage, tell us before we leave, or within 24 hours of completion, so we can inspect it. Claims made after 24 hours are much harder to assess fairly and may not be accepted.
- We are not responsible for pre-existing damage, or for faults that come to light during cleaning but were already present — for example loose trim, failing clear coat, or corrosion hidden under dirt.
- Our liability is limited to the cost of putting right the damage we caused. We do not accept liability for indirect losses such as loss of use, hire costs or loss of earnings.
8. Payment
- Payment is due on completion of the work.
- We accept cash or bank transfer.
9. Photographs and video
We often photograph and film vehicles for our website and social media.
- Number plates are blurred in photographs.
- In video, plates are blurred on request — just tell us before we start.
- If you would rather your vehicle was not used at all, tell us beforehand and we will respect that.
10. Complaints
If you are unhappy with the work, contact us at martin@mcdetailing.uk or +44 7510 141510 as soon as possible and we will do what we reasonably can to put it right.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of Scotland and subject to the jurisdiction of the Scottish courts.
